Cardiologist appointment

One of our better appointments so far, in that we got better news than we were expecting. Her heart is enlarged and working hard, but the cardiologist didn't think that was as big of cause for concern or that it's under as much as much stress as the perinatologist did the first day. Also, functionally it looks mostly good. She does have a hole between her ventricles and will have a heart murmur, but he wasn't overly concerned and said she'd likely grow out of it. The bottom line is that he didn't see anything that would require delivery in the immediate future or that would preclude surgery soon after birth. Of course, we'll still have weekly checks with the perinatologist to watch for any changes or signs of distress and she'll have another echocardiogram done right away when she's born.
